Well, it's been two weeks since the first semester break ended and now a new semester is back in full swing! My second semester at Ross University School of Medicine started on the third and it already seems like it's been a month -- we've all been thrown into the shark infested waters of neuroscience...and these aren't just any kind of sharks, these are sharks with frickin LASER BEAMS attached to their heads! Nevertheless, going to the neuro lab and finding the bucket labeled "cerebral hemispheres," digging in and pulling out half a human brain and inspecting it will never get old. What a masterpiece!
I should also probably mention that it was Chinese food Sunday for us. This became a tradition when we realized that 75% of the restaurants in the area are Chinese and they are the only restaurants open on Sundays. We've found that our favorite one is "Bob's Chinese" because he will deliver sweet and sour chicken at 3 am.
Neuroscience trivia: At what age do humans have the greatest number of neurons?
Answer: age 6!!
