Tonight's post comes from two dog-tired young adults. It was a day full of physical activity for both of us (though Genny certainly worked out her brain as much as anything else). The morning started for Will with an hour and a half long bus ride with his knees tucked in a 30 degree angle. After that, it was all down hill, like straight down hill. Will went on the Aba Wavine hike along with 20 other faculty, students, and companions, and the hike is almost entirely vertical down the slope of a cliff. We used a combination of ropes and tree roots to lower ourselves down to the beach, and the resulting view was stunning.

Upon returning home Will found Genny temporarily finishing her studies before taking a break for her team's first intramural soccer game. They had a lot of fun and the final score was 11 to 1! Unfortunately, it was their team that only scored one goal, but after running the entire left length of the field for the whole game it was Genny who had the lone assist. The assist did little to ease the aches in her legs. In fact, I bleive the last words spoke tonight by Genny were "My God, my hammy's, so sore", but the word is that she ran a great game.

Will's first basketball game was similarly frustrating, as only 4 of the 9 people on his team came to the game. However, one of the locals that did show up probably counts for two people. I don't know how they do it, but they breed some big boys down here. Last semester we had a 6'7 250 lb.+ local that resembled a more muscular version of John coffee from The Green Mile. This semester's specimen is named Tyson (though some of the locals call him Zeus because "he has brute strength, like an ox"). He had only played once before, but other than ripping the ball away from his own teammates, he played pretty well. Regardless, it was a shorthanded victory for the good guys today.

For dinner we had chicken casserole (a la Ann Jenkins), with a homemade blackberry jelly with the leftover berries from last night's sauce. We only have one game of beach volleyball tomorrow, so hopefully that won't be quite as strenuous as today's activities.

Until next time.
